israel, mr. connolly and mr. tonko and all of the members of the sustainable energy and environment coalition for being such strong advocates for a responsible and sustainable energy future. ms. lee: today i rise to speak in favor of the wind production tax credit and urge my colleagues to support its extension. wind power and other sources of renewable energy are a vital and central part of a sustainable energy future and they can be harvested right here in america. in my own district, for example, i am very proud to say that there are currently six companies operating wind power plants. these power plants not only generate energy, but also jobs and manufacturing jobs right here at home. i urge this congress to support the extension here because it will put people to work in good-paying jobs, help rebuild our manufacturing base and help us achieve energy independence. thank you and i yield back the balance of my time. the speaker pro tempore: the gentlelady's time has expired. for what purpose does the gentleman
